My Life Today

To begin with, I have decided to list the activities and events that have comprised my day today. Some are rather miniscule and non-significant while others were rather catasrophic or atleast not a typical occurance in my life. The following list isn't in any specific order:

  1. (The awe- inspiring event today): Taking a short walk outside and admiring my favorite time of year. - I love it when I can walk outside in my pajamas and it is just a little chilly, but not too cold that it makes me run inside.

2. (The praising God event today) : Spent time admiring God's beautiful creation and his colorful arrangements of colors in the trees. God really is the most amazing artist!!!! I just kept thinking to myself that if it is this beautiful down on this sinful planet, what must it be like in heaven? Surely there are all the colors of fall up there as well.

Fall reminds me about God in many ways; the changing of the seasons always reminds me of God's soveriegn plan for our lives and unless we are willing to except change we will miss out on all he has for us. Hypthetically speaking, if we had the power to stop the changing of the seasons and we decided that we loved Springtime and so we wanted to remain Spring all year-round just think of all we would miss. Each season represents a new stage in our life and we need to embrace it. Harvest time which represents the reaping of farm produce such as corn and soybeans can be an excellent visual picture to our spiritual reaping and harvesting. God plants seeds in our hearts which He nutures and grows and then as we are growing in our relationship with Him, we have the ability to plant seeds in the lives of those around us. Every believer is daily growing Spiritual Fruit for Christ which will one day be harvested for God in Heaven!!!

A lot can be learned from observing trees: Today I was struck by the picture of leaves falling from trees; in a lot of ways the leaves falling off the trees represent the way that God prunes our own lives. Unless we shed the things from our old self; our sinful nature we are unable to grow closer to him, and bear fruit. In the case of the trees, unless they lose their leaves they are unable to bear fruit the following spring and grow new leaves.

Another thing I learned today from Nature and trees is that each of those shed leaves is unique and different, each one is a colorful masterpiece!!! The spiritual lesson that I learned today relates to the universal body of believers as well as our local church body. Thee tree trunk represents God; and the Trinity. The Branches represent the christian leaders such as the 12 apostles and even our pastors and the leaves represent the church congregation or the entire Body of Believers. Each of us, just like the leaves are unique and are individually made by God and yet when we all come together we comprise the true masterpiece of what God wants the Body of Believers to be or in the case of a tree; we resemble a tree in fall that is in full bloom with all it's varied, and radiant colors!! When we work together in unity we bring praise and glory and honor to God. We complete the bigger picture that God has for our lives. We can not expect conforminty in our churches, but instead we must embrace uniqueness, just as the tree would look rather drab and ugly if all the leaves were the same size, and color and perfect shape!!

3. I Gathered some fall leaves and decided to dry and press them so I can enjoy them througout the winter.

4. (The annoying event today) : I spent most of my morning and all through the rest of the day acting as my mother's secretary....... I had to keep on answering the phone, all three; Her cell phone, the home phone and my cell phone because people kept calling for her..... and they all tried to call her at the same time!!! I kind of lost the battle with my patience today. I guess that God was trying to grow this area in my life and I ended up being defeated. :(

5. (The fearful and intimidating event today) : I had to rush my dog Skye to the vet today. He has been having several health problems lately and I had to take hime today or wait until next week. I had to call the vet myself which was intimidating, because I have only been to this new vet once before. I had to rush over there because they only had a 1 hour walk- in- clinic time today and by the time I got a hold of them there was only 30 min left and I live over 15 min. away from the clinic!!! So I had to take him all by myself to this fairly new vet clinic. I had to go by myself the last time as well and that had been my very first time ever!!! My dad always takes the animals to the vet, but lately I have had to step up and grow up if I want my dog taken care of.

When I walked through the door of the vet clinic my heart filled with dread because the entire clinic was FULL of animals!!!! There was hardly a place to sit down and Skye was the BIGGEST animal there and he has never been around so many animals or people before. I was SO VERY AFRAID that he would get in a fight or that he would embarass me. But thankfully he behaved very well and he made lots of friends with the people around us; they all said how cute he was and how loving he was which made me happy, because I have never had Skye around lots of other people, and my family (imidiate as well as distant) have always told me how worthless, dumb, annoying and silly my dog is. I was very proud of my dog today. He was very well behaved, except for when he insisted on whining loud enough for everybody to hear him. Ofcourse He did wait over an hour to be waited on and we were the very last and so he had reason to whine. He had to watch everybody else go before him!!!

As it turns out, his condition isn't too extremely serious and it isn't related to his other problem that he had over a month ago. His condition isn't able to be cured however, it is something that is going to keep on flairing up throughout his life and the vet said that surgery might be an option later on.

6. Tried to do school work: (With little success thanks to the annoying phone calls)

7. Attended my mom's stamping party that was at our house. It was fun, but I have to admit that my heart wasn't really in to it today. It was simply something that I needed to do for my mom.

8. Fed the dogs their supper: which is always an interesting chore with my dad's dog Anne who likes to throw herself at you for attention and ends up getting me covered in dog hair!!

9. Woke up at 1 in the morning with a bad sore throat and with my head and nose full. You guessed it.... I now have a cold!!!! Thanks to wearing myself out these last few weeks!!! I keep sneezing and blowing my nose as well as drinking lots of hot tea (Another bonus of Fall). I discovered Sudaffed today (AHHH what a difference it can make!!! :) )

10. Nothing much else...... My day has gone by way to quickly with little to show from it.... And so I am left feeling frustrated!!!

You were all about the metaphores, weren't you?! I liked them.

I'm praying for you, and I'm sorry I've missed your last couple calls. Keep trying!
